The Sunroom

Hello friends,

Welcome to my sun room. By far, this is my favorite room of our home. Almost 4 years ago my husband Jaksa and I purchased this home, and I can assure you that this room was what sold the house to me. Of course, the house had several things we were looking for, but the sun room…ahhh…the sun room…It was love at first sight!

I love bright spaces and I love big windows. I tell Jaksa that if we ever build a brand new home, I want a house made out of windows! This room, in a smaller scale, fulfills my dream of a window house…LOL!

Ok, back to what matters, let's talk about how I decorated and furnished this space. Since we have a lot of light and I wanted the sun room to be our cozy/relaxing room, like, no TV, comfortable couch, inviting chairs to enjoy the view of our beautiful backyard, I decided to add this linen couch from Crate & Barrel. This couch is super comfortable, it looks rustic since it’s linen, but at the same time it’s very chic. I love the color and how you can arrange the pillows the way you like. Also, the covers are removable and washable. To me that’s a plus when you have a light color couch.

All my four accent chairs are from At Home. I wanted to add a bit of color and texture to the room, but still keep a serene space. Yellow is my favorite color. It’s bright, happy and it reminds me of the sun, which is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. Anyone like me, if the sun doesn’t come out, your day is not the same? I can really feel the energy when the sun is out, I am more motivated to do things and it just makes me happy.

The faux fur chairs are super fun. They definitely add some texture to the room and it’s also an  statement piece. Everyone that comes to my house complements the chairs. The swing chair is a Marshalls find. But I am linking some very similar options here for you. I have two boys and I wanted to have a swing chair inside the house to rock them, but not a maternity rocking chair. Funny story is that by the time I found this swing chair, my boys were over a year already and I was done breastfeeding them. Oh well, but they complement the room and adds some fun to the space.

My floor lamp and end table are from Target. The end table is super sturdy and it’s the perfect size for a space that is not super big. The coffee table was an online find and I love the rustic look. The corner shelves are from World Market and they go well with the coffee table, even though it’s not from the same store.

Rug is from TjMaxx. It’s light beige, but it has some touches of gold and silver in it. I absolutely love this rug, what a find!

Lastly, the linen chair that shares the same look as the linen couch, it is from Z Gallerie.

All the decor pieces are also linked. The yellow vase is a Target find and the preserved boxwood  topiary is from West Elm. I am in love with topiaries. They are real, but doesn’t require any maintenance. There’s nothing not to like about that right?

And that is all my friends! I hope you guys enjoy this room as much as I do and be inspired by how I styled it :)

Warmly,

Camila
